The Manufacturing's Operational Opportunities breakfast forum will gather an audience of around 30 senior executives to discuss the opportunities available to the manufacturing industry in the aftermath of the recession. The findings of a research report will be discussed at the breakfast.
Theme
In recent years, there has been increasing discussion about the need to create a "value-added" economy, maximising the difference between the cost of a product or service and the price that can be charged for it. Many manufacturers have now proved adept at revitalising their business propositions and increasing their revenue streams by developing their after-market services, or creating consulting or design service businesses.
Research
The Economist Intelligence Unit, sponsored by Siemens PLM, has embarked on a programme of research to explore the operational changes manufacturers are making to add value to their business -- and optimise their ability to emerge from the current downturn and the findings of the research will be discussed at this event.
