New Directions for Growth
Over 100 delegates from Serbia and beyond gathered at Economist Conferences’ Eighth Business Roundtable with the Government of Serbia, held on March 24th in Belgrade.
Prime Minister, Mirko Cvetkovic, outlined at the event a series of fiscal stimulus measures for 2010, including significant public spending on infrastructure, designed to reinforce the fledgling economic recovery.
Despite the resignation of the central bank governor a day before the conference, Radovan Jelasic, was still able to attend the conference and deliver presentation on ‘Assessing the risks to economic stability’.
The conference was chaired by Laza Kekic. Joan Hoey presented the EIU briefing on Serbia in the opening session.
